To write something of any substance here would almost be silly, I have collected for over 20 years and I enjoy the research and history of this area. For the last 8 years I have been active in collecting and the research of (WW II era) German pre-war and war time dress daggers and bayonet hang tags(also known as factory control tag). While this specialized area is even more silly than most areas in the hobby,it is unique and often overlooked by most enthusiasts due to the cost and or the scarcity of the hang tags. Many collectors think these tags are more of a waste of money and time when you could just as well buy a dagger for the cost of a single hang tag. If it helps to ease the despair of said collectors, of a few examples, only less than a handful are known and in collections. Collectors have only seen one or two examples of some tags over the last 50 plus years. I won’t preach rarity to the choir here!! I collect WWII German Dress Daggers, and Dress Bayonets and factory quality control tags. I also have a small collection of Japanese edged weapons my father brought home after the war and that I have collected over the years..... and U.S.combat edged weapons from about the late civil war period till present.
